What is Cryotherapy?

Also known as cold therapy, cryotherapy is the use of very low temperatures to promote wellness, health, and healing.
Think of cryotherapy as the modern take on the traditional "ice baths"-- except with greater benefits, less discomfort, and no hassle! Our trained staff uses state of the art equipment to create extremely low temperatures using liquid nitrogen vapor. Localized cryotherapy treatments take just 5-7 minutes!
"I come here exclusively for the cryotherapy and absolutely love it! As an athlete and weightlifter it has been a tremendous help to soothe sore muscles and the aches and pains I get as I get older."
- Jason W., Portland OR

How the °CRYO Penguin Works

Unlike our whole body cryotherapy booths, the °CRYO Penguin localized cryotherapy system provides focused cold therapy to a specific area of your body. Our experienced cryo technicians are able to target a precise area to give you relief where you need it most. The °CRYO Penguin is a modern, mobile device used to treat localized tissue damage, induce cell rejuvenation, improve skin tone, and reduce the effects of aging.

Many of our clients combine localized cryo with whole-body cryotherapy for even faster, better results.

Just like all cryotherapy treatments, localized cryo stimulates receptors in your body, prompting your brain to send messages that result in vasoconstriction. Blood rushes to the area being treated, flooding it with oxygen and nutrient rich blood.

After the treatment ends, you’ll experience a rush of endorphins and energy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Scientific Cryotherapy Research

Which is Best For Me: Localized Cryo or Whole Body Cryotherapy?
Good question! Both offer excellent results and many benefits. Many of our clients choose to combine localized cryotherapy and whole-body cryotherapy treatments for even faster, better results.

Is Localized Cryotherapy Safe?
Absolutely! The °CRYO Penguin features a state of the art sensor that automatically measures your skin’s temperature to ensure maximum results.

Remember that cryotherapy is not recommended for those with heart conditions and other medical issues. Before your first treatment, our staff will review a complete list of contraindications.

How Long Does Localized Cryo Take?
At most, our localized cryotherapy treatments last for 5-7 minutes.

When Will I Start to See Results?
You’ll likely feel a powerful rush of endorphins (the body’s mood elevator) as soon as your localized cryo treatment finishes. You may also feel immediate:
  • Relief from joint and muscle pain
  • Decreased inflammation
  • Improved flexibility
  • These effects may last for hours or even days.

Is One Treatment Enough?
Every localized cryotherapy treatment session is beneficial. You’ll likely experience immediate positive results. However, research shows that the maximum benefits of cryotherapy are experienced over a period of 2-3 weeks, with 3-4 sessions per week.
